"L’Autrice presenta in questo volume il catalogo delle edizioni del XVI secolo possedute dalla Biblioteca centrale giuridica preceduto da un’introduzione relativa alla storia della biblioteca, alla descrizione del fondo antico e in particolare delle cinquecentine, con la riproduzione di un carteggio inedito del 1883 tra la BCG e la Biblioteca Vittorio Emanuele di Roma. Il fondo antico della Biblioteca, costituitosi tra il 1866 e il 1883, accorpa i patrimoni librari della Cancelleria dell’ex Regno di Sardegna e delle congregazioni religiose soppresse di area nordica, toscana e della capitale e comprende 181 esemplari donati dalla Biblioteca Vittorio Emanuele, come evidenziato dai documenti del 1883. Tra le Cinquecentine, edite tra il 1505 e il 1599, sono presenti alcuni classici greci e latini, anche se prevalgono le opere a carattere giuridico: accanto ad un buon numero di trattati, consilia, spiccano gli esemplari del Corpus iuris canonici e del Corpus iuris civilis, completi o parziali, anche in formato in-quarto e in-ottavo. Degni di rilievo i commentari di Bartolo da Sassoferrato e Ubaldo degli Ubaldi, rappresentanti della nuova scuola dell’età aurea, stampati in folio a Venezia da Lucantonio Giunta. Numerose le miscellanee di Andrea Alciati, il più grande e innovatore giureconsulto del Rinascimento, stampate a Lione da Sebastiano Grifo nel periodo compreso tra il 1543 e il 1548 e le prime edizioni critiche di testi pregiustinianei e giustinianei di Jacques Cujas"-- Provided by publisher.

The exhibition presents the results of expert research of manuscripts and prints using special recording devices and light sources as well as X-ray images. "A key challenge facing all educators working in practice-based subjects is the need to negotiate tensions between past and present and provide a training that prepares students for fast-changing conditions, while also conveying long-standing principles. This Element therefore investigates how effectively editing and publishing programmes prepare graduates for industry and how well these graduates translate this instruction to the workplace. Taking a global perspective to gauge the state of the discipline, the mixed-methods approach used for this Element comprised two online surveys for educators and graduates, three semi-structured interviews with industry practitioners (scholarly, education and trade) and ethnographic practice (author as educator and practitioner). Three key concepts also framed this Element's enquiry: being, learning and doing. Charles Ambrose Storey's (1888-1968) Persian Literature: A Bio-bibliographical Survey is a standard reference work about the Persian literary tradition. Storey's Survey originally consisted of 5 volumes (1.1; 1.2; 2; 3; and 4), but not all volumes were actually published. A new volume (no. 5) was published later by François de Blois. Based on Storey's handwritten legacy preserved by the Royal Asiatic Society, Brill has published the missing volumes, completing the Survey in 2020 and 2021.
Explicitly intended as a counterpart to Carl Brockelmann's Geschichte der arabischen Litteratur, Storey's Survey offers entries on Persian authors as well as their works, listing their manuscripts and editions.
Storey Online makes available all 6 volumes of Persian Literature: A Bio-bibliographical Survey, as well as the new cumulative index volume, as an online resource. Its publication in Open Access was made possible by the Persian Heritage Foundation.
