4. Ellsworth Kelly : Austin [2019]
- Foster, Carter E., author.
- Santa Fe : Radius Books, [2019]
- Description
- Book — 179 pages : illustrations (chiefly color), facsimiles ; 36 cm
- Summary
-
In January 2015, the renowned American artist Ellsworth Kelly gifted to the Blanton Museum of Art the design concept for his most monumental work, a 2,715-square-foot stone building with luminous colored glass windows, a totemic wood sculpture, and fourteen black-andwhite marble panels. Titled Austin, following the artist's tradition of naming particular works after the places for which they are destined, the structure is the only building the artist designed. Envisioned by Kelly as a site for joy and contemplation, Austin is a cornerstone of the Blanton's permanent collection and a new icon for the city in which it stands. This comprehensive book provides a thorough look at the project, from its inception to its current position as one of the artist's most important and enduring works. An incisive, thorough essay by Carter E. Foster includes archival material, drawings, historic photographs, and nearly all related works Kelly created as he developed the building's design. --Publisher's website.

- Summary

Alligevel sælges hans malerier stadig for astronomiske beløb og kæmpeudstillinger præger museer verden over ?

13. Ai Weiwei : making sense [2023]
- London, United Kingdom : Design Museum Publishing, 2023. New York, NY : ARTBOOK/D.A.P.
- Description
- Book — 224 pages : illustrations (some colour) ; 27 cm
- Summary
-
The first book to dive exclusively into Ai Weiwei's approach to design and collecting, shedding light on the value we ascribe to everyday objects. Artist, film-maker, architect, activist, collector - whatever mode Ai Weiwei is in, he is trying to tell us something about the state of the world. This book presents Ai's work as a commentary on design and what it reveals about our changing values. Confronted by the rapid pace of change in his country, Ai became fascinated by Chinese antiquities. His vast collections of historical artefacts, from Stone Age tools to broken teapot spouts, attest to the way the language of objects speaks across the ages. Is this a classic tale of technical progress, or have we lost crucial qualities with the march of time? Ai invites us to make sense of these objects as he explores the tensions between past and present, hand and machine, precious and worthless, construction and destruction. Exhibition: Design Museum, London, UK (07.04. - 30.07.2023).

14. A.K. Burns : negative space [2023]
- Burns, A. K., 1975- artist.
- Brooklyn, New York : Dancing Foxes Press, 2023.
- Description
- Book — Approximately 166 pages : illustrations (some color) ; 26 cm
- Summary
-
Deploying science fiction, material feminism, eco-anarchism, queer theory and technoscience, New York-based artist A.K. Burns (born 1975) explores the fraught relationships between humanity and nature in an epic multimedia work, Negative Space (2015-23). This nonlinear allegory provokes questions about marginalized bodies, environmental fragility and technology. Developed as a cycle of four video installations, Negative Space imagines new relationships to the spaces we occupy and the impact of our bodies in these spaces through imagery, research and critical and creative writings. Set in a speculative present, the tetralogy envisions a new materialist cosmology wherein hierarchical relations are transformed.Exhibition: Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, USA (11.02-09.07.2023).
